The CCSD#2 Board of Trustees is entering into a search for a new superintendent. The Board is interested in hearing from you regarding the personal attributes that will help determine the candidate who will be the best fit for our district as a whole. We would appreciate if you would take a few minutes and complete this survey that will give direction to our Board as it moves forward in this process.
All responses are anonymous and confidential. The survey will close on Tuesday, December 10, 2013, in order to submit the results to the Wyoming School Boards Association.
Carbon County School District No. 2 was created in 1972 through the consolidation of school districts in the eastern half of Carbon County, Wyoming.
The District encompasses 4,000 square miles in southeastern Wyoming with the eastern border less than 100 miles from Cheyenne and the southern border beginning at the Colorado / Wyoming state line. Interstate 80 and the Union Pacific railroad bisects the District.
Schools are located in the communities of Elk Mountain, Encampment, Hanna, Saratoga and Medicine Bow. The District Administration Central Office is located in Saratoga, which is the largest of the five communities.
Carbon County School District No. 2 is accredited through the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI). The North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement is a non-governmental, voluntary association of public and private elementary and secondary schools in 19 states, the Navajo Nation, and the Department of Defense Dependents’ Schools overseas. NCA CASI accredits more than 9,000 schools, challenging them to prepare all students for success as they move from home to school to higher education and/or careers.
